Our Teaching Program prepares aspiring educators for rewarding careers shaping young minds. Engage in hands-on experiences, mentorship from experienced faculty, and practical classroom training. Our students transfer to some of the state’s leading bachelor’s degree programs, including Texas A&M, Sam Houston State, Texas State, the University of Houston, Tarleton State, the University of North Texas, and more.

Clear Affordable Pathways to Success

The 60-credit-hour  Associate of Science in Education allows for two extra childhood/education courses and is designed for students planning to transfer to Texas A&M, Stephen F. Austin, Tarleton State, or Sam Houston State to prepare for careers in EC-3, EC-6, middle school 4-8, special education, and bilingual education.

The 60-credit-hour Associate of Arts in Teaching-Option A is designed for students transferring to other universities and preparing for careers in EC-3, EC-6, middle school 4-8, special education, and bilingual education.

The 60-credit-hour  Associate of Arts in Teaching-Option B is for students preparing to become high school teachers in content areas such as history, math, science, health, music, or art, for 6-12, 7-12, 8-12, and EC-12 special education.

All three options can be completed online and on the Brenham, Bryan, Schulenburg, and Sealy campuses.

Our students transfer to some of the state’s leading bachelor’s degree programs, including Texas A&M, Sam Houston State, Texas State, the University of Houston, Tarleton State, Stephen F. Austin State, the University of North Texas, and more.

Through Blinn’s role as the community college partner in the RELLIS Academic Alliance, students can complete their AA in Teaching or AS in Education and apply it toward Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies EC-6 Core Subjects, offered at Texas A&M-RELLIS in Bryan, Texas.

Blinn also offers a co-admissions partnership called the CAPS Program alongside the University of Houston-Victoria. Through this program, you can earn your AA in Teaching, then complete your Bachelor of Science in Education – Early Childhood through Sixth Grade or Bachelor of Science in Education – Grades 4-8 from the University of Houston-Victoria.

The AAT degree and the AS in Education each are designed for transfer to a four-year university, where you can earn a bachelor’s degree that leads to your teacher certification.

According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, teachers earn a median wage of $61,250
