Learning Center FAQ
No, the testing is by walk-in only. The only exception is those who have received special accommodations for private testing environments from ODS. For everyone else, we require that you bring a photo ID, and any materials you require for the exam.
You must arrive at least 90 minutes before the closing time of your respective
campus. (2 hours for Final Exams).
Online tutoring requires appointments. To schedule an online tutoring session, log into blinn.upswing.io. If you have any questions about how to schedule an online appointment, please visit us in person at any Learning Center location or email your questions to [email protected].

In-person tutoring is by walk-in. Simply walk up to the desk and ask any available tutor or learning center assistant for tutoring.
No, both online and in-person tutoring services provided by the Learning Center are free for any and all currently registered Blinn students.
Yes, the Learning Center is an accredited testing center and can proctor exams from other schools. The student is responsible for requesting that their institution send all exam materials and instructions to the corresponding Blinn campus. Each non-Blinn exam has a $25 fee, and requires the student to bring a photo ID, and any other materials required for their exam.
The Learning Center offers tutoring in all the major mathematics and sciences taught at Blinn. Some common examples include algebra, finite mathematics, calculus, physics, chemistry, accounting, and biology.
Note: Faculty tutors are available to tutor other subjects when available. Students should check the upswing site for more information.
The cutoff for starting an exam is at least 90 minutes before the closing time at your respective campus. All exams will conclude at closing time without exception. For final exams, please arrive 2 hours before closing.
No, the placement exam is not proctored by the Learning Center. You must take your placement exams at the admissions office designated by your campus. This differs depending on your respective campus, so please contact your local Blinn admissions office.
