Admissions Criteria
Admission into Blinn's Veterinary Technology Program is limited and competitive.
Prior to the application deadline, applicants must have 1) completed all prerequisite course work with at least a “C” in each course, 2) gained at least 40 hours of veterinary supervised clinical experience, and 3) been accepted as a Blinn student.
The basis for acceptance into the program includes total GPA (a GPA greater than 2.5 is strongly recommended), completion of general education courses, letters of recommendation, additional veterinary supervised experiences, general animal experiences, and community and/or military service. Top applicants will be selected for an interview with the selection committee.
All international applicants must have passed all sections of the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL). Visit the International Admissions page for more information.
All applicants are required to view a Veterinary Technology information session.
Applicants must have completed the following prerequisite courses with at least a "C." These courses may be in progress during the Spring semester prior to the Fall semester for which admission is sought, but final grades must appear on the official transcript that is submitted to Blinn by the deadline. An overall GPA of 2.5 or greater is strongly recommended.
BIOL 1406 (completed within the last 10 years)
MATH 1314 or 1324 (completed within the last 10 years)
ENGL 1301 (no time limit)

The Veterinary Technology Program was approved by the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board in January 2010, the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) in May 2010, was accredited by the AVMA February 2012. The Program accepted its first class Fall 2010.
