Home School Admissions Process
High school students may attend the Blinn College District beginning the summer following their eighth-grade year.
Follow these steps to ensure easier acceptance to Blinn
Step 1: Email the Dual Credit office for an official Home School Agreement
Step 2: Apply for Admissions and send required admissions documents
- Apply for admission online at https://www.applytexas.org/ using the ApplyTexas Instructions
- High school transcript which indicates a “B” or higher average in completed coursework and has your graduation date
- Provide your bacterial meningitis vaccination record, if attending class on the Blinn campus. Please submit your proof of bacterial meningitis vaccination through your myBLINN account.
- If you have a documented disability and need test accommodations, contact the Office of Disability Services.
Step 3: Meet Testing Placement Requirement
- Verify Texas Success Initiative (TSI) Assessment requirements for dual credit students
- If not TSI exempt, take the TSI pre-assessment activity and provide documentation of completion before taking the TSI Assessment
- Register and take the TSI Assessment
- Provide official TSI Assessment scores or official exemption test score documentation
Step 4: Complete Dual Credit Approval Form
- Student must have a Blinn ID to access

Step 5: Dual credit advising is available upon request.
Step 6: Complete the Dual Credit Student ID Request Form, once registered
- Access the Dual Credit Student ID Request Form
Photo Requirements
- Color photo in .jpg format
- Front view of your head and shoulders only (No side profiles, head turns or tilts)
- Solid white smooth background (No other people or backgrounds in photo)
- Sufficient lighting with no shadows
- Do not retouch, enhance or soften photo
- No hats, sunglasses or other items that obscure your face
- Files over 25 MB will not be accepted
