Construction Science

Through Blinn’s Construction Science Program, you learn the basic concepts of architecture, technology, mathematics, building principles, and project management and receive an introduction to building codes, electrical and mechanical systems, construction planning, site work, and heavy machine operation. Blinn architecture graduates can enter the workforce immediately or transfer to the state’s leading universities, including Texas A&M, Sam Houston State, the University of Houston, Texas State, Texas A&M-Kingsville, the University of North Texas, and Southern New Hampshire.

The Associate of Science degree in Construction Science provides the foundation to work at a construction company for the students desiring only an associate degree.

Program FAQ

The full degree can be completed on the Brenham and Bryan campuses. Select courses are available online and on all Blinn campuses.

Our courses transfer to bachelor’s degree programs at universities across the nation, and Blinn construction science students have transferred to universities such as Texas A&M, Sam Houston State, the University of Houston, Texas State, Texas A&M-Kingsville, the University of North Texas, and Southern New Hampshire.  Speak to an academic advisor at your university of choice to see how Blinn credits will apply toward your specific degree plan.

Students who complete Blinn's Construction Science Program are prepared for careers as construction engineering inspectors, construction field technicians, and associate construction managers. Students who go on to earn a bachelor’s degree in construction science and gain construction experience are eligible for careers as construction managers.

According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, construction managers earn a median salary of $98,890.
