The Blinn College District has finalized the purchase of a 100-acre site at 29638 FM 2920 in Waller that will serve as the College’s sixth campus.

The site will be home to a comprehensive commuter campus offering both academic and workforce training programs. The next step in the development process is to create a programming and facilities plan to ensure the campus meets the needs of students and the community.

“Today’s announcement marks a historic moment for the Blinn College District and for the Waller-Harris County community,” said Dr. Mary Hensley, Chancellor of the Blinn College District. “We are excited about the opportunities this new location will provide, offering programs that will inspire, empower, and equip our students for success. Our future is brighter than ever, and we are eager to begin this next phase of growth with the support of our students, faculty, and local partners.”

The Waller/Harris County location joins Blinn’s Brenham, Bryan, RELLIS, Schulenburg, and Sealy campuses.

With the expansion of a new campus, Blinn will bring its renowned academic reputation to the Waller-Harris County community. With the highest academic transfer rate in the State of Texas, Blinn specializes in helping students seamlessly transfer to leading four-year universities, including Texas A&M, Sam Houston State, Prairie View A&M, the University of Houston, Texas State, and more.

Through innovative partnerships like the Texas A&M-Blinn TEAM Program, Texas A&M Engineering at Blinn, the Texas A&M Engineering Academy at Blinn-Brenham, and the Aggie Student-Centered Express Nursing Degree (ASCEND), students have access to unique co-enrollment opportunities with Texas A&M University. As a member of the RELLIS Academic Alliance, Blinn also offers classes that transfer directly into bachelor's degree programs offered by The Texas A&M University System regional universities located at Texas A&M-RELLIS.

Blinn’s academic quality is complemented by its affordability. Most students save approximately 35% in tuition and general fees compared to the average state university and Blinn offers more than 300 endowed scholarships to students from a wide range of backgrounds.

Blinn currently offers evening courses at Waller ISD facilities, and these will remain available as the College develops its new campus site. In addition to academic transfer courses, Blinn students can currently earn an occupational skills award, Level-1 and Level-2 certificates, and an Associate of Applied Science (AAS) in mechatronics in Waller.
