Blinn offers medication aide refresher course

Nov. 11 class will meet state continuing education requirements

The Blinn College District will offer a medication aide refresher course on Monday, Nov. 11, that will meet state continuing education requirements for certified medication aides.

The one-day, $75 course will meet from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. Participants can attend in-person on the Schulenburg Campus and by interactive video on the Bryan Campus. Registered Nurse Linda Rabel will lead the training.

The course includes training and review in the preparation and administration of medications, documentation, licensing standards, safeguarding medications, common drug reactions and side effects, and an update on new medications available.

The Texas Health and Human Services Commission requires certified medication aides to complete at least seven hours of in-service education annually.
