Blinn concludes its 2023-24 Performing Arts Series with 'Music of the Knights'

Concert celebrates three of Britain's most legendary songwriters - Andrew Lloyd Webber, Elton John, and Paul McCartney

The Blinn College District’s 2023-24 Performing Arts Series will conclude on Friday, Feb. 16, at the Dr. W.W. O’Donnell Performing Arts Center with a celebration of three of Britain’s most legendary songwriters (and honorary knights) – Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber, Sir Elton John, and Sir Paul McCartney.

Weber, John, and McCartney have inspired millions around the world, and “Music of the Knights” honors their lasting musical influence with songs like “Memory,” “I Don’t Know How to Love Him,” “Don’t Cry For Me, Argentina,” “The Phantom of the Opera,” “Circle of Life,” “Can You Feel the Love Tonight,” “Your Song,” “Don’t Let the Sun Go Down on Me,” “Yesterday,” “Hey Jude,” and more!

Now, their work is assembled in a theatrical concert that will have the audience on their feet and singing along to the soundtrack of their lives. The show is directed by Scott Coulter, its creator, who has received five MAC Awards from the Manhattan Association of Cabarets and Clubs, five Bistro Awards and two Nightlife Awards for Outstanding Vocalists. He has performed at New York City’s top rooms, including Birdland, 54 Below, The Oak Room at the Algonquin, and Feinstein’s at the Regency, where he spent a record-setting eight months. His self-titled debut CD won the 2003 MAC Award for Outstanding Recording. He was director and star of A Christmas Carol: The Symphonic Concert in its world premiere with the Baltimore Symphony and reprised his role in the Emmy-nominated PBS production that premiered in December 2013.

“‘Music of the Knights’ is the freshest theatrical concert I’ve experienced in years,” said Susan Agin, Executive and Artistic Director for the Queensborough Performing Arts Center. “Cheers erupted throughout the concert and when it was over the multi-generational audience was left spellbound. The joyful energy and excitement all around us was almost unbelievable.”

“Music of the Knights” concludes a wide-ranging season of the Performing Arts Series, which previously featured a performance from magician Mike Super followed by musical performances from the Hit Men of Country and “The Beat Goes On,” a Cher tribute show featuring Lisa McClowry.
