Citizens State Bank sponsoring Blinn SBDC QuickBooks course

All-day workshop teaches small business owners to get the most from their desktop accounting software

The Blinn College Small Business Development Center (SBDC) will host a basic QuickBooks course Wednesday, July 13, to teach small business owners to get the most out of their desktop accounting software.

The course is sponsored by Citizens State Bank and available at no cost to the participants. During the session, participants gain hands-on experience for QuickBooks desktop version users, including instruction in setting up records, invoices, deposits and checks, accounts payable and receivable, bank and credit card account reconciliation, and running reports. The Blinn SBDC provides each attendee reference materials and a desktop computer to use during the course. The course does not cover the online version of QuickBooks.

The workshop is taught by Julie Gilmer, CPA and certified QuickBooks advisor, and will be held from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the A.W. Hodde, Jr. Technical Education Center located at 2910 S. Blue Bell Road in Brenham. Advance registration is required and available at www.blinn.edu/sbdc .
