Blinn College livestock judging team places fourth at Dixie National Intercollegiate Beef Judging Contest
Blinn freshman team places third overall

The Blinn College District livestock judging team placed fourth overall Saturday at the Dixie National Intercollegiate Beef Judging Contest.
Blinn totaled 2,003 points at the contest, held in Jackson, Miss. Black Hawk College won the junior college division with 2,008 points.
Kase LeRow led Blinn, placing sixth overall with 917 points. Katherin Eastep was 13th with 912 points.
Also competing for Blinn were Quensey Torrez, Whitney Watts, Kevin Jendrusch, Kelton Poe, and John Reaves.
Blinn was fourth overall in the freshman division, totaling 4,461 points. Taylor Turner paced Blinn with 908 points, with Brady Halfmann placing 14th with 893 points. Other Blinn freshmen competing were Kyle Real, Weston McElroy, Avery Oliver, Gunner Coburn, and Cade Anderson.
Blinn will next compete Feb. 22 at the San Antonio Livestock Show. The team winds up the spring semester season at the Houston Livestock Show on March 14.
Blinn’s Agricultural Sciences Program has one of the most active extracurricular programs in the state, including livestock judging, Agriculture Club, wildlife, agriculture mechanics, and horticulture.
