Blinn's associate degree in economics ranked No. 10 in the nation

The Blinn College District Associate of Science Degree in Economics recently was named one of the best associate degree economics programs in the nation by BestValueSchools.org.
Blinn was ranked 10th in the nation based on criteria that included the cost of tuition per credit hour and enrollment size.
“This ranking reflects the outstanding dedication of Blinn’s economics faculty and Blinn’s continued ability to attract high-achieving students to our programs,” said Dr. Charles Smith, Dean of Business and Mathematics.
Blinn’s 60-credit-hour associate degree in economics is offered online and at Blinn’s Brenham, Bryan, RELLIS, Schulenburg, and Sealy campuses. Designed to prepare students for transfer to a four-year baccalaureate program, the curriculum includes math, science, social sciences, and humanities. According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, the national demand for economists is expected to increase 14% between 2019 and 2029 with a median salary of $108,350 per year. The Bryan-College Station area ranks among the top 10 in the nation in employing economists, and several of U.S. News & World Reports’ 100 best jobs require strong backgrounds in economics, including market research, management, and financial analysts.
